Neighbor, through translator, tells commission trucks and trailers across from home are blocking the street

At the public-comment period for the 509 South Main design-review item, Giselle Andrade spoke as translator for Maria Reyes, who lives across from the proposed business. Andrade said trailers and trucks parked near the property have made exiting the home more difficult, described late-night floodlights, and asked the commission to consider the neighborhood impacts.
"It looks terrible and is definitely devaluing the property," Andrade said, speaking for Maria Reyes and describing trucks and trailers that are "effectively blocking a public street." The applicant responded in the hearing that contractors had been working on interior finishing and that she was willing to clean up, paint the container, and work with neighbors. Commissioners asked staff to include screening and a landscaping plan as part of the design-review conditions so neighbor concerns are addressed before final implementation.
