Weyauwega council approves July 3 street permits and temporary alcohol license

The Weyauwega Common Council on June 15 approved street use permits and a temporary alcohol beverage license to support the city's July 3, 2026 250th Birthday Celebration. Councilmember Chris Gunderson moved and Councilmember Shani Appleby seconded the permits; the motions carried with all "ayes."
During public comment, Brad Leonhardt said, "July 3rd postcards and posters are out," and reported he had met with Police Chief/Public Works Supervisor Brandon Leschke to finalize the parade route. Mayor Rich Luedke told the council preparations were being finalized and said, "Rain date if needed would be July 5th."
The approved permits cover applicants Casey Weed and Doug Behn; the council also approved a Temporary Alcohol Beverage License for the Weyauwega Arts Organization to serve alcohol during the July 3 celebration. The council approved a separate street permit for the Weyauwega Car Show on Aug. 14 contingent on receiving a copy of liability insurance.
