Alan Berg said the capital projects levy would help the district maintain access to digital instructional resources purchased with federal COVID relief funds. "Many of our instructional resources currently used in our classrooms were purchased with 1 time federal COVID relief funding. If those licenses expire, they will need to be renewed," he said, framing renewals as an ongoing expense rather than a one-time purchase.
Berg added that today's instructional materials include online lessons, assessments, and interactive learning platforms that require ongoing licensing fees that fall outside the operating budget restrictions, and that levy dollars are legally limited to curriculum, technology, and transportation rather than teacher salaries or utilities.
