Several commissioners and members of the public pressed for a clearer, ongoing program of district-level community meetings so that residents across Fluvanna County can learn about plan updates and proposed projects without traveling long distances. "If we keep this in a rotation, I think it'll better make the people in this county knowledgeable of what's happening now," Planning commissioner S8 said, urging a written process so the public knows "who you contact, what the steps are, and everything."
Speakers distinguished earlier events advertised as "community meetings" from the focused comp-plan outreach meetings and asked that future public engagement be more consistent and district-specific. Staff confirmed four meetings were held to solicit input for the comprehensive plan and suggested an appendix and updated web page could consolidate demographic tables and community-input summaries. The commission asked staff to return with clearer language about how future district meetings will be scheduled and how residents will be notified.
