Council backs Friends of the Meeting House plan to preserve Reverend Morrison House

Representatives of the Friends of the Meeting House presented a three-month plan to stabilize and begin fundraising for the Reverend Morrison Meeting House. The plan calls for branding, public communication, a preliminary structural assessment and early fundraising. The group said it will not seek town funds at this stage and will pursue donations and nonprofit status.
Councilor Dan moved and Councilor Deb seconded a motion to support the group's efforts and request quarterly status reports; the motion passed 5–0. Council members clarified that routine town maintenance will continue and that the friends group should document fundraising and make arrangements for separate banking for donations if needed.
