John Winkle and Pam Hart laid out the timeline families should expect this fall: kindergarten orientation for parents and students is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 31 at assigned times, with sessions running about 8:30–10 a.m. K Day events in August provide bus practice and on-site tech help. Hart described Strong Start as a staged first week of school (Sept. 1–3 and the Tuesday after Labor Day) followed by a Strong Finish on Sept. 9 when school teams meet to finalize homeroom placements; students begin in their permanent homerooms on Sept. 10.
Officials asked families to watch for mailed letters by Aug. 3 with orientation times and said schools will post supply lists on their building webpages. Parents were told orientation requires an adult and the child (up to two adults permitted per child) and that families should contact their child's school with scheduling conflicts.
