The board voted July 22 to authorize spending necessary to develop the fiscal year 2027 budget and to proceed with the development process after a finance committee recommendation.
Finance Committee chair Mister Merlo told trustees the committee met July 14 and recommended authorization to spend for FY27 budget development, and the board moved and seconded the authorization during the meeting.
Separately, the finance committee recommended renewing the district's audit engagement with Newkirk and Associates. The committee reported the proposed renewal carries "about a 4% increase" over the prior proposal; trustees moved and approved the engagement letter for auditing services.
No detailed budget or contract amounts beyond the audit percentage increase were discussed in public session; the board moved these items forward as part of routine fiscal preparations.
