Jim, the board's staff presenter, recommended acceptance based on his review and told the board he "agree[d]" the 25-foot reduction "would not be an issue for me" and that the reduced easement would facilitate maintenance from the opposite side.
Board members emphasized the importance of top-of-bank measurements and wetlands permitting; the chair said the 25 feet must be measured from the top of bank so the county can run equipment in the event of future maintenance needs. The board voted to approve the variance and instructed the applicant to file plans and any required delineations and permits.
