The City of Altamont will hold a public meeting and public hearing on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at 7:00 P.M. to discuss alternatives and proposed improvements to the sewer collection system. The meeting is being scheduled to support the city’s application for State Revolving Fund (SRF) financing, city staff said.
City staff reported they met with Ben Coltrane of Midwest Engineering and Austin Masters from the Midwest Assistance Program to prepare the SRF application and to discuss sewer improvements at the lagoon ponds. Midwest Engineering will also pursue a Kansas Water Office grant on the city's behalf to help offset project costs. The minutes emphasize the Sep. 25 hearing will cover alternatives and improvements necessary for SRF terms.
