Altamont council authorizes SRF application to fund sewer improvements

The City of Altamont council voted to authorize submission of a State Revolving Fund application to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) to finance sewer improvements. Councilmember Tyler Julich moved and Councilmember Booth seconded approval of Resolution 311, which the council carried.
Administrator LeaAnn Myers told the council the city received a letter indicating eligibility to apply for SRF assistance and noted the loan request would be based on findings from a sewer study by Midwest Engineering. Austin Masters of the Midwest Assistance Program attended to outline options for using SRF loans and to help the city prepare the application. The council recorded the action authorizing the application; KDHE is the recipient of the submission request.
