Council votes to meet in closed session to discuss personnel under Maryland statute

The council voted unanimously Wednesday, November 12, to meet in closed session to discuss appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation and performance evaluation of appointees and employees under section 3-305(b)(1) of the Maryland Code, the chair said. “All those in favor, please raise your hand,” the chair said during the roll call on the motion.
The chair announced the closed session would be held in the Capitol Crescent Trail Conference Room on the fourth floor and declared, “The open portion of today's meeting is adjourned.” The motion to meet in closed session was moved by the council vice president and seconded by Council member Sayles; the chair said the vote was unanimous of all present. No further discussion was recorded in the public portion of the meeting.
