A committee member raised concerns that the ATAC committee had been excluded from selection conversations for the town's DMO and requested a joint workshop with town council and the finance committee to improve transparency.
The member said that including the ATAC committee in DMO selection would make the process more open to the public and allow the seven committee members to participate in decisions that allocate tourism dollars. "I feel like from a resident standpoint, we would be a lot more transparent if we had the committee involved in the other two pools, specifically around the selection of the DMO," the committee member said.
The presenter (chair) said the request was off-agenda and recommended the member place the item on a future agenda or invite the mayor or town manager to a discussion. The presenter also noted that procedural rules limit off-agenda debate and suggested following Robert's Rules for formal agenda items.
