Board members reviewed two vendor quotes for a proposed golf-range net and pole system. One proposal using refurbished wooden poles was presented at roughly $108,000; a second proposal using manufactured metal poles was priced near $548,000. Trustees questioned steep variances in netting and drilling costs and asked staff to get a detailed, comparable breakdown for the next meeting.
Members noted the metal poles would carry a larger warranty and different aesthetics but that the netting line and drill/installation charges differed dramatically in the vendor submissions. Staff placed the item on next month’s agenda and asked the vendor to provide an apples-to-apples comparison of materials, netting, cabling and labor so the board could evaluate value and long-term maintenance costs.
