City administrator says opportunity-zone work and power-coalition talks are underway

City Administrator Reid told the council the city recently met with county and business-council representatives to pursue potential opportunity-zone designations for parts of West Side Green River, which could provide tax incentives and help attract industry. "We did have a meeting with the county and with the business council beforehand regarding some opportunity zones," Reid said, adding staff will provide more details as they are finalized.
Reid also said a Power Coalition group is continuing work to evaluate potential power suppliers and alternatives and that staff are coordinating a meeting with Rocky Mountain Power and the Public Service Commission toward the end of August. He said additional information would be shared when available.
