The Board of Garrett County Commissioners held a public hearing July 6 on a proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development for the Friendsville Water Improvement Project. Marissa Kling, Accountant with the Department of Financial Services, presented the draft application materials and noted that public notice and review occurred June 23–26; the application limit is $800,000.
No public comments were offered during the hearing. Following the hearing, the Board approved Resolution 2026‑12 authorizing submittal of the CDBG application in the amount of up to $800,000; the motion passed unanimously. County staff will complete the application and submit it by the July 6 deadline noted in the minutes.
