Council approves Fire Relief Association benefit increase to $10,800

Staff and council discussed the effect of adding potential new firefighters and showed several scenarios with mock member ages; city staff noted that while the relief association governs its own investments, the city must approve pension increases because the city could be liable if funds were insufficient. Council approved the increase following motion and second.
