Tumwater authorizes memorandum of understanding with Teamsters Local 252

The council on July 21 authorized the mayor to execute a memorandum of understanding between the City of Tumwater and Teamsters Local 252 covering classification changes, accrual updates and wage placement for newly established positions.
Michelle (S32) presented the agreement and said it aligns specialized public-works functions with appropriate classifications and benefits. "The proposed MOU reflects collaboration between the City and the Teamsters 252," she said. Council approved the authorization by unanimous voice vote.
Staff will finalize the agreement, implement payroll and classification updates, and follow standard labor-relations procedures for execution and recordkeeping.
