FGM Architects and Boyd Jones Construction presented the design development and updated budget for the proposed satellite fire station. Architect (transcript: "Bridal Harton," FGM Architects) described the building footprint (13,371 sq ft), a second‑floor mezzanine of about 2,220 sq ft and a finished total just under 15,600 sq ft. The design emphasized durable exterior materials and a hot/warm/cold plan to separate apparatus bays and decontamination areas from living spaces.
Boyd Jones construction manager Sean Yockey said the updated construction cost estimate is tracking just under $11,000,000, with full development costs (including design fees, furnishings and equipment) under $12,000,000. He outlined a timeline to finish construction documents in September, go out to bid, aim for a spring 2027 start and complete construction in early summer 2028. Councilmembers praised emphasis on firefighter safety features and encouraged public attendance at the open house; council approved the resolution advancing the design and budget work with an 8–0 vote.
