He outlined a timeline to finish construction documents in September, go out to bid, aim for a spring 2027 start and complete construction in early summer 2028. Councilmembers praised emphasis on firefighter safety features and encouraged public attendance at the open house; council approved the resolution advancing the design and budget work with an 8–0 vote.
