Riverton honors officers, dispatchers and partners for April 30 rescue at residential fire

Police Chief (S9) recounted the April 30 residential structure fire on North Broadway in which communications staff, Riverton officers, Fremont County deputies, Frontier Ambulance EMTs and off‑duty officers coordinated to locate and remove critically injured victims. The chief said officers entered the burning residence without firefighting protective equipment to search rooms and render aid. "Their teamwork, professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment to serving the community resulted in coordinated, life saving efforts," the chief said while requesting unit citations for personnel involved.
Council members joined the chief in individually recognizing personnel and arranged for citations and pins to be presented; several family members participated in the pinning. Mayor Tim Hancock and other council members publicly thanked the responders and emphasized the community's appreciation for first responders' risks and sacrifices.
