The Pierson Town Council on March 17 approved Ordinance 2026-04, a set of revisions to the town's personnel regulations, on second and final reading.
Town attorney Scott Simpson read the ordinance title for the second reading. Mayor Gray Leonard said, "Let the record show that the title for ordinance 20 26, the report has been read." After brief procedural comments that the ordinance had been advertised and previously approved at the prior meeting, the council took a roll-call vote with all members voting in the affirmative.
The approval completes the legal requirement for a second reading after the item was advertised. The attorney noted the reading satisfied the ordinance's public-notice and procedural requirements and the council formally recorded the vote.
The council did not elaborate on substantive policy changes during the brief discussion; staff characterized the update as "some revisions and updates to the personnel rules." The ordinance takes effect as provided in the codified text. The council moved directly to other agenda items after the vote.
