The council authorized the city to submit a proposal to the Wyoming Association of Municipalities (WAM) to host the 2028 summer conference, tentatively set for June 7–9, 2028. City Clerk Lynn Quinn (S8) outlined a plan that would use Rollins High School for registration and vendor space, confirmed some lodging options and a Frontier Prison lawn banquet, and described potential county-wide vendor involvement.
Quinn said organizers are aiming to accommodate roughly 350 attendees and suggested several community events, including a possible 5K routed on sections of the Continental Divide Trail. Council members thanked Quinn for the effort; the motion to authorize the proposal passed with six yays.
