City staff recommended, and the council approved, a contract awarding McGill Restoration the downtown parking-lot reconstruction work for $460,343.36. The project includes reconstructing two parking lots (Third & Main and a lot on Sixth Street) and the connecting alley with 7‑inch Portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement, followed by restriping and construction of a screen wall around the lots.
City Engineer Anna Allen said 11 bids were opened on April 22 and McGill's bid was the low responsible bid. Councilwoman Gannon noted she was glad to learn 'PCC' meant concrete. The council voted unanimously to authorize the mayor to sign the contract.
