Mayor Alan Fiers announced at 5:18 p.m. that the commission would recess to a closed attorney‑client session under Section 286.011(8), Florida Statutes; Town Attorney Keith W. Davis requested the closed session to discuss settlement strategy.
No members of the public provided comment at the meeting. The public meeting reconvened at about 6:47 p.m., at which time the commission approved a motion directing litigation counsel to revise a counterproposal and authorized Commissioner Steven Smith to meet with The Anchorage representative without attorneys present. Mayor Fiers adjourned the meeting at 6:50 p.m. The record states the closed session was recorded by a certified court reporter.
