The Commission approved a special event permit request from Sailfish Marina for Dec. 14, 2025, allowing use of Town Hall and the beach parking lot for an event of up to 300 people from 2–6 p.m.
Mayor Alan Fiers recommended approval with the caveat that both lots be provided at no cost provided no one requests the Community Center; if the Community Center is requested the applicant could be charged for that facility or cancel that lot. Commissioner Kathleen McGahran moved to approve the permit based on the mayor’s recommendation; Vice Mayor Tracy Larcher seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
No fees or additional conditions were read into the record beyond the mayor’s recommendation; the permit approval directs staff to finalize the permit consistent with the Commission’s guidance.
