The Chautauqua County Legislature met at the Robert H. Jackson Center in Jamestown for a program marking the Center s it celebrates 25 years of civic programming. Kristen McMahon, president of the Jackson Center, introduced a short video and outlined the Center s a forum for education and discussion of law and justice issues inspired by Robert H. Jackson, a Jamestown native and former U.S. Supreme Court justice.
McMahon said the Center hosts programs including Constitution Day events, international humanitarian law dialogues, and naturalization ceremonies where new citizens take the oath. Speakers from the community and early board members attended and praised the Center—or its educational mission and partnerships with schools across Chautauqua County. The legislature recessed briefly for the presentation and then resumed business.
