The City Council approved a resolution authorizing the city manager to purchase liquid aluminum sulfate on an as-needed basis for the water purification plant. City Manager Dan Creighton said the plant uses approximately 48,000 gallons annually and that the total expected cost is about $72,500. "The plant utilizes approximately 48,000 gallons annually. Total expected cost is expected to be approximately $72,500," Creighton said.
Procurement Director Samantha Burkhart told the council this item received three bids and that the lowest bid was less than what the city paid last year, a point several councilmembers noted with approval. Staff said the item is necessary now because supplies at the plant are running low and authorization is required to maintain continuous operations.
