City staff presented a proposed six‑month leaseholdover extension for the Maryland Department of Labor’s offices at 2–6 North Potomac Street, noting the space is about 11,000 square feet and the current annual rent is $167,100 (about $15 per square foot).
"That lease began in 01/29/2007... the current annualized rent is $167,100, which is about $15 a foot," staff said and noted the state is current on payments. Staff told council the packet includes the state's extension letter and a draft motion; the current 6‑month term ends July 31, 2026, and the proposed new term would run Aug. 1, 2026–July 31, 2027. Council members indicated agreement with moving the item to the regular meeting agenda for formal action.
