The resolution sets the committee term from Sept. 1, 2026, to Aug. 31, 2027, directs the city attorney to attend as a non‑voting advisor, and tasks the city administrator with assigning staff liaisons. "Hereby move for the approval of a resolution establishing the charter review committee 2026 to review the city's charter and present to the mayor and council written recommendations, if any, for changes to the existing charter," the mover said. Council members indicated support in the work session and the motion passed on a voice vote. The council expects the committee to return any recommended charter language or policy changes to the mayor and council for consideration by the end of its term.
