Mayor proclaims tourism week, Poppy Day and Child Care Provider Appreciation; local volunteers and providers recognized

"I'm Marcia Roselle director of visit Manhattan," she said, and highlighted the role of the tourism sector in supporting local jobs and economic activity. Poppy Princesses Emily and Everly Rountree described the poppy tradition and noted volunteers from American Legion Post 17 will hand out poppies on Poppy Day to raise funds for veterans. Melissa Bowles and other local childcare providers spoke about provider professionalism and community supports during the childcare appreciation remarks.
The proclamations were ceremonial recognitions and required no further action by the commission.
