One commissioner said the city would likely have to forego property taxes for 10 years to align with prior county abatements: "we would likely have to, partner and have an agreement, with them that would, for the next 10 years, would include a property tax abatement on our end anyways," (speaker 7).
The motion to approve the outside-city water service agreement passed with a 4-0-1 vote (Commissioner Morrison abstained). Commissioners noted the item does not itself annex the property and directed staff to continue coordination with county partners on longer-term planning.
