Superintendent Dr. Isaacson reviewed FY26 closing results and presented a FY27 budget amendment that reflects a more accurate opening balance. He told the board the district’s operating fund balance on hand is about $13,400,000 (approximately 29% of reserves) and that the FY27 amendment increases projected operating revenue by approximately $1,000,000 without adding new operating expenses.
He described accounting corrections that affected activity funds and reserve calculations (an item described as $2.1 million and later a final adjustment of about $5.0 million appeared in the recapitulation). The superintendent said that because of these reconciliations and reduced state funding the district is adjusting capital plans — deferring two school-bus purchases and playground fencing to preserve reserves. The board then voted to approve the FY26 recapitulation and the FY27 amendment with no opposition.
