DeKalb County planning officials said the department is consolidating permitting, licensing and review tools into a single e-permitting system designed by Oracle, funded through a $7,000,000 investment. "The investment in technology is gonna allow the capability for you to be able to fully track your project," Planning Director Julianne Njoku said, describing the system as a tool for transparency and continuity.
Njoku said the new platform will let residents apply online, view permit status during the review process and access licensing information. She framed the system as a safeguard against lost institutional knowledge when staff retire or leadership changes, saying the system will maintain records and facilitate cross-departmental coordination during plan review and inspections.
