City recorder outlines flood-program choices; mayor reports emergency-plan rewrite

City Recorder Michelle Connor told the Detroit City Council on Sept. 10 that an upcoming national flood program will require the city to choose one of three options by December and that she reviewed the choices and their implications; she also noted hazard-tree work is ongoing and that she will attend the annual city recorders conference.
Mayor Jim Trett said he meets weekly with Marion County, that staff are updating the city's emergency response plan and that he recently briefed Marion County Commissioner Lori Chavez-DeRemer on city issues. Trett noted the community's remembrance of Sept. 11 and the council adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
