Southwest Virginia Museum outlines lineup, logistics for "The Gathering in the Gap" on May 23

Gretchen Cope, Park Manager at the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park, briefed the Town Council on The Gathering in the Gap scheduled for Saturday, May 23, and asked for the town's continued support.
"We have a great event planned this year with Lonesome River Band, Dave Eggar, and Sister Sadie on the main stage starting at 6PM," Cope said, and she outlined daytime programming on the Acoustic Arbor stage beginning at noon featuring WiseJAMS, Jim Lloyd, Now Playing, Roan Street Ramblers and The Lovely Mountaineers. Cope said the museum has partnered with the Mountain Artisan Woodcarvers to offer a Camp and Carve at Jessie Lea RV Park and that free shuttle service will run all day.
Cope emphasized family-oriented activities. "There will be a jam tent called Pickin' in the Gap, Pint-Size Pickers and children's activities," she said, and thanked the town for its involvement. She noted that the event is free except for the main stage.
The presentation provided dates, lineup and logistics; Council did not register objections on the record. Organizers and staff will proceed with event operations and the town's ongoing role in support and coordination.
