The council considered three applicants for a vacant city council seat (term expiring Dec. 31, 2028): Richard Wright, Zech Boeckman and Amy Nicholls. Each candidate had an opportunity to speak. The council conducted two rounds of voting; on the second round Richard Wright received three votes.
Councilor Gabrielle Plunkett moved to appoint Wright and Councilor Abby Hungate seconded. The motion carried 5-0-0. City Manager Eric Underwood administered the oath of office to Richard Wright, who then took his seat at the dais. Councilors encouraged applicants who were not selected to apply for vacant Budget Committee seats.
