Elgin School District's board approved routine personnel actions on Oct. 21, including acceptance of resignations and approval of new hires.
The consent agenda included acceptance of Jalaina Jacobsen's resignation as assistant high school girls basketball coach and approval to contract with Todd Bischoff-Dimond as School Safety Coordinator. The board later approved the hire of Joelle Johnson as junior high girls' basketball coach and approved hiring Megan O'Leary as a second-grade teacher in prior minutes. Separately, the board's records include an emailed resignation from Brian Sanders, assistant high school wrestling coach, dated Oct. 21: "I would like to resign just because I have a complicated schedule this year with Hunts so I'm not sure what I need to do other than send you an email saying I am indeed resigning as of October 21, 2024," Sanders wrote.
Minutes show motions carried and items were recorded as approved; the public minutes do not include roll-call tallies for each motion. The board's business office will proceed with hiring paperwork and posting any open positions as needed.
