Board moves ahead on fieldhouse and property sales; finance report notes major SIA-funded purchases

The board approved motions to advertise Requests for Qualifications to complete the FFA/Ag barn at 891 Inkwood St., to advertise and sell two district properties at 810 Inkwood St. and 1095 Hemlock St. (with proceeds split between reducing obligations and matching-grant applications), and to solicit RFPs for fieldhouse completion. The board also approved collaboration with Project Manager Brian Hardebeck of Otak CPM to support next steps in the RFP process.
Finance Administrator Amanda Lapp, appearing by phone, told the board that property-tax receipts have started to arrive and reviewed recent large district expenditures charged to SIA and other funds — citing Acellus online licenses, AED purchases, CharacterStrong curriculum, science curriculum purchases, IMESD IT support and Life Flight Network renewals among the larger charges. Superintendent Karla Head said the district will apply proceeds from property sales to reduce monthly insurance obligations and to seed matching funds for the fieldhouse project.
Board members approved advertising and procurement actions by formal motions. The district will proceed with RFQ/RFP timelines and will return with proposals, bids, or contractor responses for future board consideration.
