Safety upgrades underway: eyewash stations, first-aid stations and safety doors discussed

The district's safety coordinator reported to the board that the district has purchased and begun installing eight eyewash stations and several first-aid stations to meet OSHA requirements and increase everyday safety for staff and students.
The report (submitted by School Safety Coordinator Todd Bischoff-Dimond) states the new eyewash and first-aid stations "will bring us into OSHA compliance and increase safety for students." The coordinator also described upcoming staff training: CPI training in January, ALICE training in February, and OSHA-10 for the maintenance director. Superintendent Karla Head updated the board that safety doors were installed in both buildings but still require adjustments and that upgraded speakers/PA systems in the secondary building were installed and will be tested in an upcoming drill.
The board packet records these as operational safety investments and training plans; the administration said the remaining door adjustments would be completed over winter break prior to final payment.
