The Elgin School Board on Oct. 21 authorized the district to advertise Requests for Qualifications for construction of the FFA/Ag barn at 891 Inkwood St., using engineered plans already purchased.
Board members said the RFQ process aims to identify qualified contractors who can build the facility within the district's budget. "We are at the stage now where we need to advertise and secure Requests for Qualifications for companies to bid to build the FFA/Ag Barn within budget, using the engineered plans that have already been purchased," the superintendent stated as the board moved the item.
The board approved the motion and directed administration to publish the RFQ and begin evaluating responses so the district can select contractors and proceed with funding and scheduling.
