The Big Stone Gap council opened and closed a joint public hearing on Ordinance 06-2026 at its Feb. 3 workshop and recorded that no members of the public spoke during the hearing.
Town Manager Stephen Lawson described the measure as intended "to maintain the safe and intended use of public parks, sidewalks, streets and other public spaces for the general public." No public testimony was offered during the workshop minutes and no vote was recorded at the meeting. The ordinance remains under consideration and will return for formal action at a future council meeting according to agenda procedure.
