Elgin board adopts student transportation and procurement exemptions policies

The Elgin School Board approved third reading and adoption of multiple policies relating to bidding and student transportation at its March 10 meeting. Policies adopted included DJC-AR (Exemptions from Competitive Bidding and Special Procurements), EEA (Student Transportation Services), EEAB (School Bus Scheduling and Routing), EEAC (School Bus Safety Program), EEACA (School Bus Driver Examination and Training), and EEACC/EEACC-AR (Student Conduct on School Buses and discipline procedures).
The motion to adopt these policies was moved by Board member Khirenda Johnson and seconded by Board member Elliana Fincher; the minutes record the vote as 5-0 in favor. The adoptions update the district—ramework for transportation operations and procurement exceptions and were recorded as action item 5.1 on the agenda.
