A board member reported the district has purchased playground equipment with an estimated total cost of about $111,000 and said grants would cover almost half the expense.
The board member said tear-out of the existing equipment would be required before installation and suggested volunteer help could reduce labor costs. “We figure we're gonna have almost 50% of the $111,000 total cost of [playground] equipment and installation and shipping paid for by grants,” the member said. The speaker added that installation would likely take about a week once removal is complete and that the goal is to have the playground ready by spring.
Board members discussed logistics and noted staff would follow up with timelines and any required actions for site preparation.
