City announces Community Conversations event, SDC study and DEQ review update

City Manager Eric Underwood told the council that the Community Conversations event will be held Saturday, Aug. 16 at 3:00 p.m.; it is advertised as a public meeting and a quorum of the council is expected to attend. He said the event is intended to gather community feedback and that watermelon will be served.
Underwood also said the city’s System Development Charge (SDC) rate study is scheduled to begin in September. Regarding the building moratorium, he reported a proposed rerouting of irrigation lines has been submitted to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for review and that the review may take around four months. He added that the city’s recent audit was completed with no findings.
