South Windsor ends IT contract; Andover must transition to in-house or new vendor by October

Town administrator said South Windsor will stop providing intermunicipal IT services on about Oct. 21. Andover plans for an IT transition and is beginning vendor/transition preparations ahead of the service end date.
Town administrator Matt alerted the board that the intermunicipal IT arrangement with South Windsor will end in October after that town’s council voted to rescind the service. "South Windsor has decided they're no longer gonna be able to provide that service," he said, and Andover must plan to run or replace that support by the target date around Oct. 21.
Matt said the town will start transition planning and vendor outreach to ensure continuity. He described the change as the most significant near-term operational challenge mentioned in his report and said staff will provide a more detailed transition plan and timeline to the Board of Finance in coming weeks.
