Dayton School District No. 8 budget committee approves $23.26 million budget and certifies tax levies

The Budget Committee of Dayton School District No. 8 voted unanimously to adopt the proposed fiscal-year 2025–26 budget in the amount of $23,261,972.61. Director Tern Paysinger moved the motion, Roger Webb seconded, and the committee carried the motion by a show of hands (13–0).
The committee then certified taxes to be levied for the district. Director Kraig Albright moved the tax certification, with Tern Paysinger seconding; that motion also carried unanimously (13–0). The levies include a permanent tax rate education limitation of $5.0892 per $1,000 of assessed value and $1,498,001.00 excluded from the limitation for the payment of bonded debt. The committee recorded the two decisions as formal motions and votes during the May budget meeting.
