The Ware County Board of Commissioners approved awarding the Runway 1/19 rehabilitation contract to East Coast Asphalt, LLC, the low bidder at $1,731,196.00. County Manager James Shubert reviewed the bidders (East Coast Asphalt, Thrift Brothers and The Scruggs Company) and confirmed East Coast Asphalt was the low bidder.
Shubert presented the planned cost share for the project: Federal 95% ($1,644,636.20), State 2.5% ($43,279.90) and Local 2.5% ($43,279.90). Commissioner Leonard Burse moved to approve the contract, Commissioner Jon Tindall seconded, and a roll call vote recorded ayes; the contract award was approved.
