Commission briefed on planning commission reappointment and land-bank vacancy
Summary
Staff reported that Kristie King Foreman requested reappointment to Planning Commission Post 3 and Bill Bryson asked to be appointed to Post 6; a separate appointment to the Waycross–Ware County Land Bank Authority to fill William Simmons’ unexpired term was carried over from a previous meeting.
County Manager James Shubert told the board that terms for the Waycross–Ware County Planning Commission posts 3 and 6 expire June 30, 2026. He said Kristie King Foreman requested reappointment to post 3 and that Bill Bryson — described as a former planning commissioner with certifications — asked to be appointed to post 6. Shubert said post 6 has been a city appointment and will roll over to a county appointment for the upcoming term.
Shubert also reminded the commission that an appointment is needed to fill the unexpired term of William Simmons on the Waycross–Ware County Land Bank Authority; that item was carried over from the prior month's agenda. Both items were added to the regular meeting agenda for formal action.
