Rangely staff presented Ordinance 70620, an amendment to municipal code sections that would increase water and wastewater fees to maintain adequate enterprise fund balances. Staff said the increases are intended to keep pace with inflation and to reduce the need for large future adjustments, noting that prior periods (2014'2018) had no changes and that doing incremental adjustments spreads the impact.
The account manager said the proposed changes were detailed in a rate summary distributed to councilors and that public notice and outreach material would be circulated so residents can comment. The ordinance was introduced as a first reading and will require a second reading and formal vote at a subsequent meeting.
