Highway department reports Bridge 61 work underway; INDOT refund of $64,837.68 to bridge fund

The county highway superintendent reported that work on Bridge 61 on Bata Road has begun and supplied the paving list for Community Crossings funding. The highway office also said storms and high winds felled about 30 trees over the weekend. INDOT has closed out two projects and is returning $64,837.68 to the county; the money will be returned to the bridge fund in about four to six weeks.
The board approved an update to the county's road inventory for Medlock Road (IR374), changing recorded mileage from 0.3002 miles to 0.1734 miles. Commissioner Tony Cardwell moved to approve the updated inventory and Commissioner Todd Ewen seconded; the motion passed.
