Washington County commissioners confirm executive session topics; regular meeting approves routine business

The Washington County Board of Commissioners opened with a certified executive session noting the sole topics discussed were personnel matters and potential litigation under I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(9) and I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(2)(B), then convened the regular meeting at 9:00 a.m.
Commissioner Phillip Marshall asked for and received unanimous approval to adopt the meeting agenda. The board also approved the Nov. 18, 2025 meeting minutes and approved claims and payroll on motions made by Commissioner Tony Cardwell and seconded by Commissioner Marshall.
Commissioner Marshall moved to continue the county's legal services with CLLB Law and Attorney April Geltmaker for 2026; the motion, seconded by Cardwell, passed. The meeting record notes Marshall "expressed appreciation for her guidance and help as the attorney for the county."
